Concrete Debris Removal
I am having the outer layer of concrete that is old and crumbling removed from the walls in a large aviary. Then replaced. There will be quite a lot of painted plaster chipped from the walls that needs to be hauled away. La Floresta won't pick it up so my question would be as to who I might call for this service.
If anyone needs landfill or knows of someone that I might hire, please let me know.

Re: Concrete Debris Removal
Are you doing this yourself? I ask because usually the workers will take it away or would know someone with a truck to take it away.
Re: Concrete Debris Removal
I have hired Andres for the labor to assist me and I am buying the tools and materials. He doesn't have a truck so that is my problem. I'm trying to convince myself that this is going to be a fun project and learning experience, but in truth I know it's going to be backbreaking work. I have just completed pressure washing the brick walkways that were covered in mold and algae so I like to work, but I haven't figured out how to dispose of this concrete basura.

Re: Concrete Debris Removal
Usually the workers take it and fill potholes on the roads with it or to build up the elevation of an empty lot or ditch. The local word for this stuff is "escombro" (rubbish) and makes good fill. Hire any local gardener that has a pickup truck and they will take it away for you. If you use the word "basura" (garbage), they won't be very interested.

If he does not have a truck he will know someone who will. There is a man with a large truck who specializes in removing escombro, the masons usually know who it is.

Thank you "ladies" for your suggestions. Isn't it funny there hasn't been any men chiming in, but when the question is about food, beer and cooking they all want a say.
I truly appreciate the correct Spanish word escombro, it may help in my quest. I will run by a construction site here and see if someone can help me. Andres is the handyman recommended to do odd jobs as he's trying to support his family in settling here. He worked construction in the States so we'll see how he does.

Definitely a shot at you, Bob I knew you could handle it. Sorry, Ezzie, I didn't know your gender and was mistaken.

Re: Concrete Debris Removal
There are 2 issues about escombro, one is the truck but the more important one is where to take it. The guys in construction know who needs fill as it is not accepted at the dump. It is a good idea to ask the maestros at construction sites.
