weird thunder last night in Ajijic

I've never heard thunder like what I heard last night around 5 am ...a continuous rumble that lasted around 15 minutes ..... CONTINUOUS ! .......NO BREAKS ...I've experienced thunder from New England bouncing off mountains to hurricanes in Florida ...........NEVER have I heard anything like this ...a continuous rumble with NO BREAKS with only some lightning finishing off with rain only at the end ......... got up and watched the show ....as I said , the was little lightning ......... I know Ajijic is a center for UFO sightings ...... anyone see one ? LOL
anyone else see/hear this last night ? .....several years ago we had an earthquake and it sounded like a truck rumbling down our street and that's the closest to the sound I heard but this was LOUD and continued for 15 minutes ........ anyone else experience this ?

This is the fourth storm with "roaring" that I've experienced in the last 10 days. Plenty of hail also during this early morning storm. I'm in Chapala.

I heard the continual thunder too. I was also discussing with someone on my morning walk.

Like Lunateak said, our fourth episode of that rooooooooooolling thunder here in Joco in the past couple of weeks. Sounds like it's coming from southeast of Joco, but perhaps that's only because my bedroom window faces south.

I am house sitting in San Juan Cosala. The thunder woke me up.

Could it be blasting, not thunder? We heard it again last night - really sounded like blasting at a mine or for highway construction.
But why at night? Go figure.

no it is thunder.

When I was flying with the Air Force in the 1970s, you would see these big clusters of thunderstorms that form after midnight over land and the lightning was just fierce.  We would fly offshore in clear air and watch the show.  It was great.

We could see the storms 400 miles away and the lightning would run the tops of the clouds constantly.

I run a lightning detection station that is part of a world wide chain and I love to watch the storms.  On Thursday night, there was a strike so close that my electronic watch jumped an hour and 20 minutes.  Never seen anything like that before.  This is a great place to watch big storms.

Holy smokes,we've got hail the size of marbles falling right now and still have an internet connection.
Before with a little chipichipi/drizzle it would go out.
