Driver License scam
We took a client into Guadalajara today to renew their driver license. They had their original license issued in Chapala. They were given a fake license and the license was seized and cut in half, now the person needs to apply for a new license. Beware as many people may think they have a valid license and gave money to someone who pocketed it and printed a non existent license.

Re: Driver License scam
Someone else I know said they couldn't find her license (which was granted in Chapala) on file however when she went into GDL to get a replacement they found that they had spelled her middle name wrong which is why the initial search didn't show up. They quickly printed her a new license and all is well.

I'm lost. I thought you must go to motor vehicles or wherever to get your license. How can someone else say they can go for you when you need a picture and to sign documents?

Re: Driver License scam
I highly doubt transitos have any way to validate a license on the spot. All they care about is getting the mordida. I know people driving around here on an expired (10 years ago) NOB license. The transitos don't care.
