I am looking for a source for very used furniture. Wooden antiques or well dated solid wood furniture that can do with some repair or refurbishing. Looking for possible auctions or well priced used furniture stores. Want to start a furniture refinishing business and do not know of a good source for these items.

There is a bunch of wood furniture for sale in the For Sale section of this webboard. Some are antiques.

I found a gorgeous, beautifully carved old chest of drawers in the Chapala consignment shop, and snapped it up immediately. 99% of consignment furniture is current, but every once in a while you get lucky. I drop in on estate sales occasionally but haven't found anything in those yet.

I don't think you're liable to find too much locally - the ex-pats Lakeside don't seem to have much to offer in terms of beautiful old pieces that need re-finishing. One dreams of finding something in a dusty old village off the beaten path. Yeah, dream on. Maybe mercado libre?
