Everyone has their own idea of beauty: yesterday I was with a very handsome young man, bronzed skin pitch black hair.. and his dream was have white hair and lots of wrinkles!

Could have sworn this was going to be about chiropractors, and I was eager to point out that 1,350 of them were just certified quacks.

For the curious: with a little help from Google, you can find out who's certified or naughty. So, it's buyer, be aware.

Even being certified is no assurance that your surgeon is really good at what s/he does, is not out to turn you into a frozen faced, puffed-lip automaton as s/he fills their bank account or is not in cahoots with other specialists s/he can refer you to for other unnecessary procedures. So, buyer be very, very aware.

Also, those "before and after" pics are somewhat meaningless.  Usually the "before" does not include the happy smile shown in the "after".  If anyone is determined to fool mother nature, I'd suggest they get their recommendations from someone they can observe in person.  A friend of mine had a saggy under-jaw situation and went to a local person to get "refreshed", with the result that she did look better but felt like she was choking all the time.  IMO, not worth it.

I currently have 2 nephews at the Instituto Jalisciense De Cirugía Reconstructiva. It is one of the leading, if not the top institute, for training certified plastic surgeons in Mexico. These 2 young men, along with the others training at Instituto Jalisciense De Cirugía Reconstructiva have already spent more than 9 years in medical studies, including 4 year general surgery residencies before they entered the institute where another 3 years of training are needed before they can become certified. Their late father was a certified plastic surgeon who performed who knows how many pro bono reconstructive operations for such things as cleft palates, accident victims, deformative birth defects, breast reductions, breast reconstruction following cyst removal etc. Sure, Ts and As are a big part of a plastic surgeons practice these days. But so are many other very needed procedures.

There are plenty of highly qualified cosmetic surgeons in Mexico. There are also a few US quacks who took "early" retirement in Mexico,

For example the usual MO is license suspended due "failure to keep medical records", a clue that the respected US Dr was prescribing oxycontin 100,000 pills a month.
