Golf Empty Golf

Post by Calgary Native Sat Sep 13, 2014 5:37 pm

I will be moving to Lakeside Nov 1/14 and would like to join a golf club. I can get the information on memberships, annual green fee costs etc. on the Lake Chapala Golf and Country Club from their web site. I am having trouble getting the same information about Atlas. Can anyone help me out here.

WHY would you want info about Atlas. Yeah, the course is longer, and so is the drive. Go with the flow.

Congrats Zapada: One of the classic and most ill conceived posts I have even seen made on this forum!

We are still talking about golf, right?
Where you chase a little white ball, while getting exercise getting in and out of your cart?
Or are we talking about a VW car? Beer Beer

No, we are talking about chasing the white ball. Unless VW also makes a model called Atlas? Zapada did say something about the drive. Dammit, Zen. Now I am confused.

Perhaps I should explain.
Naaah. It would only cause additional confusion. Beer

Golf Empty Best place to buy golf balls? And membership info for Atlas

Post by elevator Thu Sep 18, 2014 9:39 am

and are prices comparable to US?

I received the following info from the membership director last Oct, but there is news person now I believe.

Costs in pesos:

Senior membership....$63,000 (member and spouse)
initial payment ....$25,000
various finance plans up to 36 months

Maintenance Fee $4,250 per month with 50% off first 8 months

Can someone tell me what the cost per round is for a member?

Ok, Zen, I think it is safe to say the topic is about a place to chase the little white ball around on some grass and NOT the VW car.

Comparable to the US?  NO.  In Mexico Golf is played by the rich and tourist classes.
Prices are correct.  If you pay with cash, check or credit card you'll get 8% discount, or you can finance the buy-in.
Monthly fee is reduced ~$1,000 pesos if you play only on weekdays.
The 50% discount for the 1st 8 months is/was a promo.  It may or may not be available now.
Your monthly fee allows you unlimited golf for you and your spouse/partner.  Guests are $1300 Pesos weekdays/1500 weekends.
Contact me via PM and I'll take you out for a comp round and introduce you.  BTW, do you speak Spanish?

Golf Empty My club deal in Georgia was very similar pricewise, but allowed me ccess to 24 courses

for $30 per round.

I have been working on my Spanish for a year or so and remember some from when I lived in Guad. 40 yrs ago. I guess I can speak and read it fairly well , but conversing with someone at full speed is a ways off.

I'll definitely be in touch for a round when I get there. I've been working on getting the fade out of my tee shot since I remember most of the doglegs at Atlas are right to left.

Yes, a draw is a plus at Atlas.  However, I can draw only with a pencil and paper.  I'll be happy to indroduce you to the staff you need to know.  There's always an english speaker around to assist when needed.
