report in Guadalajara reporter which can be read on line, says the el president has ordered the barriers to be taken down. !! great news . when is a different matter tho !! but good news all the same.

Inasmuch as the El Camino Real has been an open "highway" at least since the Conquest, it's a mystery who would have thought it could be blocked in the first place.

According to the article, the orders have not been issued yet. Don't drop your vigilance until you actually see them removed. No date by which the orders would be issued was given in the article.

The barriers on the East end of Camino Real are now GONE! Yippeeee!!!
Let's hope the ones on Revolucion are next!

But I did see some men messing around the east gates today. Couldn't tell for sure what they were doing but they were dressed in office clothes not worker clothes, and I didn't recognize any one of them. Looked like they were having an interesting discussion.

Apparently the barriers were temporarily removed for about 5 nights to accommodate a large private party here...but once that was over, they came back up. The 'workers' in the little white La Floresta trucks, those useless morons who just sit around doing nothing, tell me that the barriers are here to stay. They're just getting info from their Admin Ofc...but the word from El Presidente is that they are illegal and they will be completely removed. All of them. I asked the worker who was reinstalling the barriers this afternoon if the barriers were for 'security'....he said 'yes' ...so I then asked him why they aren't going to install barriers at the 3 roads off the Carretera that ALSO enter Lower La Floresta, and he just laughed at me. We'll see who gets the last laugh...

no. they were taken down illegally between 10 pm Saturday and 1 am sunday. when the party finished. they were then taken for repair and re installed, and the welding reinforced during Monday and Tuesday. more representations are being made by Mexicans in the next couple of days to el presidente.the workers are only workers they don't know anything. the barriers will come down, but when is a different matter.sooner rather than later. and I hope whoever was responsible for taking them down Saturday comes back and I will buy him a beer or three.

Who has the most money in their wallet? The money people that want the barriers or the whiners that want them removed. It seems that the ones that want them have spent the money. Whiners need to come up with the dinero if they want them gone. Petitions don't buy tortilla's.

This probably does seem like whining to most residents of New Mexico as they rarely use that street. Most probably don't even know where you are talking about.
