Re: Internet crawl test almost nil
I almost posted yesterday about slow speed here (north Chapala). I have TelMex. It has been like this for several days. Today is better than yesterday which was painfully slow. Still, it is much slower than usual.

That could be kind of bad or real bad depending upon what you are supposed to get. What speeds are you paying for and who is your ISP? Once we know, we can better make comments.
I pay $599 to Telmex and I am supposed to get "Up to" 5 megs down and up to I think 0.6+ megs up and that's close what I get. Oh and your ping results seems pretty good as are mine.
Here is what I get, which is close to what I pay for

You might also, using your keyboard, enter your modem and see what speed your modem is set at.
I just entered my Thomson and here is what my settings are higher than promised in my $599 contract
So what is important so that we can comment on your speeds are,
1. what speeds are you getting
2. what speeds are set in your modem
and 3. what speeds are you paying for.
And why not share the results from say www.speedtest.net as I did above
Good luck
Pete

Pete...don't know how to ck bandwith. The test was Speedtest and I couldn't get the pic to load...tried twice, but I noted the results in first entry. I'm using Ipad Air.

Assuming Telmex Telephone DSL service. Call Telmex and ask for English please and eventually you will go to Mexico city or someplace and they will speak perfect English.
Two things determine your speed. How far you are from the phone switch and how fast
it is set up for you. You should have five download speed for the 599 plan. You may be
too far away from switch as I am and can only get 2 because of the length of wire. Your
service could also be misconfigured as mine was. I was paying for 3 getting .8 and the
max wire distance from switch allowed 2. Since my Telmex is a backup line for my cable
modem service I kept it slow as it will work all the time in the rain at the slower speed.
While waiting (pour a beer) for Telmex English to answer be patient and these folks are
extremely competent and will test your line and get to the bottom of the problem. Telmex is a much more rugged signal as a rule over the faster but crankier cable modem.
