ATMs down?

Just returned from trying 6 different ATMs from Chapala to Ajijic and all were either posted out of order or non functional with no posting. Any ideas what's up?

I tried two atm machines (Scotiabank next to Dominos, and HSBC across from Walmart) with the same results. The Scotia atm said they "couldn't connect" to my bank. The HSBC atm just said "go away". Many, if not all, land-line phones in Ajijic centro are down also. So the problems could be related.

Fortunately, tomorrow is another day.

Should be interesting Rosa, getting Telmex moving on a weekend. Good thing this isn't World Cup Futbol, with Mexico playing on Saturday.  

Since there is obviously a widespeard problem of some sort or another, I have complete confidence that Telmex will fix things at any moment...

Seriously though, they've gotten a lot better. We had a problem with the house phone and they sent someone (who fixed it!) on Christmas Eve. A little Christmas miracle, no doubt.

I haven't been able to reach anyone in Ajijic, La Floresta or SAT. All that is left is the internet and cell phones. TOB has been down about 24 hrs or more as well, wonder if that has been caused by Telmex also? Hope this stays up.

You would have thought when the husband went to TelMex this morning that they would have just said they are having a big problem and just to wait. But no they had to say we will sign you up for a service call. Geez, so much easier just to come clean.

My friends with TelCel cellphones weren't working either.

Topic heading was posted on TOB that the ATM's are working again but because of the ongoing Internet outage, I can't read the actual post. My land line came back on in Chapala this evening but not the Internet...still piggybacking off my neighbor's.

Phxfunguy, on TOB, if you click on View New Content and then in the list of posts click on the poster´s name to the right of the topic name, it takes you to their profile. In the left column, click on either Topics or Posts and you will see the latest one. Sometimes it shows the newest one under Topics and sometimes Posts, but at least you get to read it.
