Once again, his mind has been befuddled by the smokescreen put up by Borderland Beat meant to obfuscate the legal and moral issues involved in the needless deaths of five young men in Chuquiapan. In any event, here is a well-written article from La Jornada that discusses some of the fallout from the incident. The article makes it clear that this is the crux of the dispute between Mr. Beltran and Mr. Mireles and that the legal question of Mr. Mireles' complicity is whether or not he ordered the attack.

How exactly is BB obfuscating the issue? What would motivate them to do this? Do they have a dog in this fight? You seem to be privy to all sorts of information not found in the typical media sources. There must be something that allows you to come to such concrete conclusions. It appears you have a dog in this fight although why you would is a mystery

If I had to pick a dog in this fight it would be Pitufo. He may not be such a handsome rogue as Mireles, or even such a handsome donkey as Pena, but he has shown me a great deal of dignity in weathering the anti-Pitufo media campaign and a great deal of integrity in breaking with Mireles over the issue of the needless killings at Chuquiapan. I suppose I would even admire the man if only he didn't remind me of The Smurfs.

I'd still like to know how BB is supposedly spinning info and obfuscating. AFAIK they aren't a news agency but just a site that reprints reports from other sources. Do they even offer editorial opinions? And plus the fact you have linked to them when you feel they substantiate your position but criticize them when pedro cites them.

Another question I have is why would EPN agree to a meeting with him if he was a fraud?

While Borderland Beat does reprint articles from other sources, including many of the same sources I use, a large part of their material is staff-generated. Everything they publish, whether a reprint or generated in-house, is biased in support of Mr. Mireles. In fact, Chivis Martinez (who I believe owns the site), is such a blatant cheerleader for Mireles that she is often chided in the comments section for being in love with the man.

I sometimes post links to translated articles on BB since they do a much better job than Google. And I sometimes post links to BB articles in fairness to Mr. Mireles since I know they will be telling his side of the story.

Mr. Mireles is being investigated for ordering the attack that resulted in the deaths of five young men; he is not being investigated for holding up the head of one of the dead men.
