Buying at Soriano
Deb has been bitchin about buying chicken at Soriano, says she buys skinless chicken breasts, only to get them home and find the skin packed under the meat. Since I was bored today decided to check it out. Picked up a large prepackaged breast...nearly 2 kg.
Asked them to open it, and sure enough there was skin, even pieces of neck. I asked them to remove this and repackage the breasts, they refused. Next when you buy skinless, boneless, they will pack it under the meat.
Never seen it, never would have believed it.....buyer be ware.

Drive on over to the Chapala Indoor Market. Buy the chicken from the nice "chicken ladies" in the far corner. They trim off all the junk and just sell you lovely chicken breasts. I figure it is ever so much fresher than either Sorry-anna or WallyWorld.
Ask them for "bis-steak" and they will slice it paper thin. I do that sometimes just because it is so much fun to watch.

Re: Buying at Soriano
So, buy the chicken with the skin on and skin it yourself. It takes about 10 seconds and it's cheaper anyway.

Re: Buying at Soriano
Price of Chicken in Mexico is so reasonable, I wouldn't complain... unless maybe... If I had to pluck em....
Tray of Chicken Wings there is about $30-40 pesos ... in Canada $10-12 dollars ( 120-130 pesos )
Beer $13-18 pesos ... in Canada $3-4 dollars ( 34-45 pesos )
so ya can see why I gotta get the hell outta here
