Clothing town
I know there is a town nearby that specializes in clothing. I think it is on the way to La Barca but I'm not sure. Does anyone know the name or can confirm where it is?
Re: Clothing town
same place as in my bass fishing thread. yvonne was there once and got a real nice outfit. isn't there a bus tour from here from time to time?

Re: Clothing town
I think the place you mean is called Zapotlanejo.
I got this from our friend Google:
"Zapotlanejo lies directly east of Guadalajara and is around 30 km / 19 miles away, with a population of just less than 30,000 people. This undeveloped town is far from full of tourist attractions, although if you are looking for clothing, then this is the place to come. Zapotlanejo contains literally hundreds of different vendors, all of which are selling inexpensive clothing and accessories and line several blocks. Buses regularly connect Zapotlanejo and Guadalajara, departing from the Nueve Central Camionera bus station."

Presa is about 15km further east of Zapotlanejo. Maybe I'll check that out while I am over there today.Pedro wrote:same place as in my bass fishing thread. yvonne was there once and got a real nice outfit. isn't there a bus tour from here from time to time?
Re: Clothing town
I went. There is a huge clothing mall on the way in. A real waste unless you are a kid or love polyester.

Re: Clothing town
Well I just got back from both that outlet mall (MacroMall) and the town of Zapotlanejo itself. The place is truly a clothing meca. You may need to check out that mall again Helperguy. They had a ton of stuff there for guys. I picked up a pair of American Eagle jeans, a nice dress shirt and some cargo shorts. The town of Zapotlanejo has even more shops and is quite a nice clean town. The funny thing is that all citizens (including all the kids) were all decked out in nice new clothes...jajaja. If you are looking for one stop clothing shopping this is the place to go.
Here are some pics of the Macromall:
And here are some pics of the town:

Re: Clothing town
You take the highway to Tonala and keep on going about 15 minutes further. There are signs everywhere. You pass through one Toll Booth and just beyond that you will see the Macromall on your right hand side. You go a bit further up the highway to take the exit into the town. Personally I would go to the town for the shopping. Way more fun than the boring mall.simpsca wrote:Thanks Bob, can you give us directions on how to get there?
Re: Clothing town
I believe I saw 38 size jeans however in Mexico you have to try them on as I find they fit smaller than advertised (or maybe I am getting fat?).zenwoodle wrote:How were the sizes? I have trouble finding anything with a waist size > 38

There was one shoe store in the mall and many in the town.
Re: Clothing town
im with zenwoodle, i find it hard to get 38 waist size myself. The wife and i will have to go sometime, looks like a nice place, and even if we dont find anything its always fun to go on a little roadtrip.

Re: Clothing town
Fastest way to get to Zapotlanejo:
Just past the airport there is a sign that say's Zapotlanejo, take that road and follow the signs. There is no toll on this road.
