Futbol Tournament

As I posted last week, there is an "elite" team which has been invited to participate in a tournament in Guadalajara the week of the 21st.
The teams will be representing all of lakeside from Ocotlan to Jocotepec. The players have been selected from all areas along the lake.

16 of the players will be from Union Ajijic, with 11 of them coming from the Inside Lakeside team.

I will add more detail about the schedules as they become available, but all games will be played at Estadio 3 de Marzo at the Universidad Autonoma.
There will be more than 200 teams participating from all over Mexico and even a team from Florida.
This is a great opportunity for the kids to be seen by scouts from major teams.
I understand that this is the first time that a team from this area has been invited.

We have been able to fund the entrance fees, and transportation for the first couple of days, but this has completely drained our reserve funds.

I am hoping that some of the board members can step up again and assist us with additional funding.

The only schedule info that I have is that Sunday the 21st is just a day when all the teams get together and are introduced. Kinda like opening day at the olympics.

The Juvi's (Inside Lakeside players) will be playing in the afternoons on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

If we do well, then we get more games and (hopefully) progress to the finals.

Here's how the tournament will work.

There are 32 teams in our juvi age group. They are divided into 8 groups of 4.
We will play each team in our group once (Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday).

The top two teams in each group advance to the next rounds.
We will then play two games each day. I believe this is a lose and go home setup.

When I have playing times, I will post here.
