Has anyone heard of any problems with crossing the Border at Laredo with a cracked windshield? If we have to get it replaced I know we will have to keep the part of the windshield displayed, that has the sticker on it in order to have it taken off of the computer at the border. Has anyone encountered any problems?

Cannot tell from your posting if you are concerned about passing through the border checkpoint or after that on the roads/highways of Texas?

We have crossed into the US any number of times with a chipped or cracked windshield and even with expired plates and the US Customs/Border Agents have never had any interest. From that point on, it is a real tossup if the Highway Patrol, Sheriff's Dept. or a City cop might be interested in hassling you over such an issue. If really concerned, I would suggest making arrangements to have a mobile glass service meet you at a motel and replace your windshield. There are many companies that do this - one national company is: http://www.safelite.com/. We have never used them but I do see their trucks all over the place.

Usually no, unless it is clearly obstructing the driver's vision. Same if you need inspection, obstruction of driver's vision.

Texas..
