Taxco Suggestions????
One of our target cities for our annual late summer trip is Taxco. Wondering if any members have experience in visiting this city and any particular suggestions on hotels, restaurants or things to do or see?

Re: Taxco Suggestions????
I know I'm reviving an old neglected post here but Taxco is one of our favorite towns. The town I proposed to my wife in.
Two wonderful places to stay are Hotel Agua Escondida which is right on the main plaza but insulated from the noise somehow. Another is on the outskirts of town and a nice walk to and fro, Monte Taxco which is up on a mountain top with an incredible view of the entire town, especially at night and of the surrounding mountains. Good restaurant, pool and reasonably priced and it has a 4 person enclosed gondola which will take you to and from the hotel, avoiding the steep winding road which leads to the hotel. The gondola drops you off below on the edge of the highway which goes through Taxco. It's about a 30 minute walk to down town Taxco with all the silver shops and the beautiful Santa Prisca Church which was a gift to the town and to "God" out of gratitude by a silver mining tycoon (Borda) who became very rich. The Church has the only depiction of a pregnant Virgin Mary in all of Catholic Christendom. Our favorite place in all of Guerrero, beautiful and magical.
