Re: Army in San Antonio
I am feeling really sorry for the guys in the bunkers in this heat. It's good to know we can take them cold sodas and something to eat. I'll be dropping things off as I go buy.

I meant to say "regidor" not delegado. The regidor is ex presidente Degollado, he has a lot more clout and he is asking for an explanation so we just might get one this time. There is some kind of meeting coming up soon and the presidente is going to have to say something...I have a feeling we are not going to like it.
what makes you think a PRI councillor has more clout than a mayor and majority gummint of councillors that are PAN?
hector espana is the elected "mayor" of the minor village of ajijic which is in the muicipio of chapala.his brother oscar served in a PRI gummint 3 terms ago[see his portrait on the mural].
draw your own conclusions, but please base them on proper facts.

Darling Pedro , Degollado is a Regidor. The consejo de regidores are made up of PAN and PRI but collectively their job is pretty much ...well, to quote a friend..."To make difficult the life of the president" . The regidores are higher on the totem pole than the delegados...and why you are blathering on about Hector and Oscar, I have no idea.

Re: Army in San Antonio
you just don't get it do you. the mayor is PAN, the majority of council is PAN which makes the other councilors a minority whatever affiliation they may have[gerjardo degollado is PRI].Ms.Thang wrote:Darling Pedro , Degollado is a Regidor. since you insist on using espanol for the above without knowing of what you speak-here-chapala politics 101:
mayor/presidente,consejo/council.regidore/councilor. just like in the excited states and canuckleheadland the whole sheebang is made up of an uneven number giving the mayor the tie break vote on issues. yes even municipal is party system here just like in the excited states. but it ain't in canucklehead land where as a muni poli you are an independent.
talk to me after you have worked with this gummint fer 6 years under PAN and PRI

Some dark place until the judge reads all about the case and decides what to do with that bunch. That is when the story gets interesting!

Here's a link to the El Informador article. I think it says they were sent to prison but the article is a tough read. Maybe someone with better Spanish skills than mine can help out. Google Translate wasn't much help.

Re: Army in San Antonio
From what I read they have been accused by the justice department or the DA equivalent of attempted murder, kidnapping and being part of organized crime.
Now we have to wait to hear what happens and wether they will be found guilty or not and what time they will serve if any.
