Someone has to have an answer!
What can we take across the border into the United States as gifts, such as
Tequila, Vanilla, fresh cinnamon, honey, Jamaica Tea, spices, etc. There's got
to be a website somewhere that can be specific on these issues. I get that you
can take in Tequila but supposedly only 2 bottles "but" then again you can take
in what you want as long as it is under $400.00. Is there any site that can
address these things so we know what is really the right and wrong things to do?
Also then, what about Texas? What is the quanity of stuff they allow. Our
vacation is coming up soon and the more I research, the more different answers I
get. I'm too old to be this confused.LOL! Thanks to you all.

CBP.gov is the US Customs website which appears to address all of your questions.

Flying or driving?
If you drive there is no limit on alcohol for personal use but it will be subject to duty. You don't want to bring so much that it will look like you are going to sell it so you should check with Texas to see how much alcohol they will allow. I have brought in ten bottles of vanilla at one time and comercially packaged spices are not a problem . As for Honey, I don't know but I have brought in agave syrup that was not commercially packaged.

Re: Someone has to have an answer!
This was a recent topic on another forum and some new things came up about Texas. The US Govt. position is that you are allowed 1L of liquor duty free and then State regs take over from there. Arizona allows you the 1L and no more. They will dispose of any excess right in front of you. New Mexico charges $1.50 per L over your allowed. Texas was quite liberal until recently but I understand they now impose a rather heavy State Tax but it wasn't defined in the other conversation. I have always called the State authorities where I am entering the US to check their individual policies.
