Video Security Camera and DVD
My neighbour at the end of our street just get burgled TWICE, two weeks apart! That's now 5 robberies in the last 4 months that I know of personally. Feels like we're under siege.
I bought a LOREX video surveillance system at Costco yesterday.....maybe it will act as a deterrent????
I need help installing it....ladder to mount the cameras, hole drilled thru wall for cables, DVD setup and so on.
Can anyone recommend a knowledgeable installer who can do the job?
Thanks

The only one we know of is a block from the fountain, through the stop light coming from SAT in Chapala(keep going straight) on the right hand side. They sell locks & safes in the front. Talk to the guy that sells alarms etc in the back who also sells the parts you'll need to install your Lorex system. Follow up on him. Glad more people are getting them.
Btw Spencer's cameras look great too!

If you don't have luck lining someone up, contact CB or Juanrey, as I believe Jose, the satelite guy that installed their systems could do it....since I am on the road, I don't have his number......they are EZ PZ to install.

Re: Video Security Camera and DVD
When designing and installing a security system of cameras, I would give some serious consideration to supplementing with motion detectors that either illuminate lights or activate some sort of loud alarm or both - both are the enemy of thieves. When loud alarms are activated, the word tends to get aound pretty quickly!

I already have a high quality alarm system in the house.
Are you suggesting outside motion detectors hooked into the existing SASE system?
Your thoughts please.

Please forgive me if I came across as any kind of expert because that is the furthest thing from the truth! It is just my personal belief that the ability to disrupt darkness with light and "wake the dead" with noise are the two things that thieves fear most and do more to keep them on the outside. The theory of recording their activities is all well and good providing law enforcement is capable of and willing to pursue the evidence.

Re: Video Security Camera and DVD
I think the cameras value is purely a deterrent. To make my house appear less attractive than my neighbours to thieves.
It's a sad statement on my Fracs residents that at a couple of previous members meetings we could not make any progress on collective security....guard house, paid police patrols, shared electronic security monitoring, etc.. The prevalent attitude I saw from a truly vocal and strident group was "I'm alright Jack!". I'll look after my security you look after yours. This was in the face of single women residents pleading for help and a Mexican youth who was assaulted in his own home.
A bit sick but the situation reminds me of the old joke about two hunters startling a bear in the woods. As the bear gave case one hunter said "We're doomed. we'll never outrun that bear". To which his hunting partner replied "I don't have to outrun the bear......I just need to outrun you"

And remember the lights or siren will go off everytime a mexican possum walks around. Your neighbors may not like your system if it is to sensative for
normal animals running around.

I think you know full well that sensors have been improved a great deal in recent years and when properly installed and adjusted, the propensity for false alarms has been reduced greatly! One doesn't need their alarm system: "Crying Wolf"!

Hocks, I'm not sure I understand your post. At 65 I may be over the hill and not with it. Please elaborate.

The guys at Satellite Systems (or are the Ajijijc Electronics now?), Michael and Mario can do the job.
