Colored Fire Flames

Long story short, I need these chemicals to coat pine combs, cinnamon sticks etc. We will be making these and and giving as gifts for our friends w/ fireplaces. Throw in some kindling and fireplace matches and you have a unique, thoughtful gift indeed. I do know I have received some strange reactions from asking about lithium chloride (LiCl)

Anyone have a clue as where to purchase? I will be in Mexico later this summer, Is it legal to carry across border? Do you need a permit? TIA..

Adding a small amount of chemicals to a hot burning fire can have an 'Ooooh-aaaah' effect. It's important to do these only after all cooking has been done on the fire and when there is little wind so the smoke can rise up rather than into campers' faces.

I think you are over reacting. What do you think they use in fireworks?

Then you should probably ask the fellow in each village who makes the fireworks. He will probably have some or know where to buy it.
