Link to rental site
For those looking to rent a house or condo, long or short term, this is a great site. I have used this many times.

are most of these places on here short term thou versus long term where it isn't cost per night. Are there any apartment complexes that you can rent from that you don't have to worry about an owner coming back for a few months a year.

Some people have a casita they rent to long term tenants rather than vacationers. I have one that will be available in early April: suitable for one person who can deal with one flight of stairs; newly built; all furnished; centrally located; balcony but no yard, no off street parking and no pets. Great privacy. All utilities included in rent of $500 per month except cable TV . Owner lives on same lot some distance from casita. Definitely prefers long term tenant. Interested? PM me.

Re: Link to rental site
VRBO is a site for short term vacation rentals. If you want long term you are best to check the sites of the local RE offices or Rental Locators at http://rentallocatersmx.com/
Re: Link to rental site
And Gringal's casita is in a premium location. It is every difficult to find a long term casita in her area.

Thank you for the plug, Bob. It really is a very pleasant place close to the lake and downtown. Lots of light and high ceilinged, with a nice peek through the trees where you can "almost" see the lake.

Hello I am interested in a long term rental starting in Sept. 2017. I would like a 2 bedroom in Ajijic, San Antonio or La Floresta area. I will be back down on June 20 for 8 days to see rentals and finalize the rental. Your help is most appreciated. Thank you.

Hi Myriam,
I hope to be right behind you. Going to the Consulate Tuesday and plan to list my home for sell as soon as I get approval, but who knows how long it will take? I was there in May and had a little bit of a hard time seeing available rentals since most are "behind the walls" and I didn't have a definite move date. How are you going about seeing what's out there? I only need 1-bdrm but have a medium-sized, non-shedding, 12-year old dog. Maybe a short-term (3 month) to have time to look around for the perfect long-term.

You and your dog can stay at the very pleasant Hotel Perico while you get your bearings and find a house to rent. See banner ad above. Nice people, good place.
Best way to find a well-priced rental is boots on the ground. Suerte.

Re: Link to rental site
Hi,
We are looking for a 2-3 bedroom long term rental or house exchange in the Ajijic area. My husband, son, age 10 and I will be here for a year. Access to a pool or the Lake would be wonderful as we love to swim and kayak. I am a former creative director and designed environments for hospitals. My husband managed residential construction projects and is open to maintaining the property we rent. We are non-smokers, homeowners and extremely responsible. Excellent references. If you are interested in a house exchange, we have a beautiful, spacious home with a pool in La Paz, BCS. It is 3 blocks to the beach. Photos and more info available.

For anyone that uses Facebook, there are rental groups on there as well....some short=term, many long-term. Houses, apartments, and casitas. Here are the group names.....Ajijic Rentals Chapala, Lake Chapala Rentals, and Lake Chapala Rentals by Owner. Check them out on Facebook. Near the top of each group page is a list of 'See all items for sale'.
