To 'quote' Will.I.Am Shakespeare: "The lady Papa doth protest too much, methinks."Lady Otter Latté wrote:Papa. you have made yourself very clear that you did not enjoy Piano Rojo. You made that clear in your very first post. It is your inability to stop telling people that you did not like it, why you did not like it and repeatedly bringing up the gay aspect of the place that makes me wonder what ax you are grinding. Where you worked and what your job was is not the issue. How you are (repeatedly) expressing yourself now is. It has been my experience that generally people without a particular ax to grind express their opinion of a place and move on.

I believe he found something he has an opinion on so he expressed it, he doesn’t often, like some others.

He didn't just express his opinion... he's been beating it to death.
Here's two points on that: because he doesn't express his opinion often, it's then okay to belabor the point? And more interestingly, you say "like some others", once again painting a big, wide swath over everyone else on this board you don't like. You must know that those kinds of statements are simply trolling for drama.I believe he found something he has an opinion on so he expressed it, he doesn’t often, like some others.

So what he’s 74 and has made 65 posts at this time and you think "The lady Papa doth protest too much, methinks." is an appropriate response?

Wow, you who keep talking about 'missing the point'. YES. What a friggin' Republican obfuscatory response, Parker. Who CARES how many times he's posted altogether (apart from you, obviously) or how old he is. He has chewed up a whole lotta disruption by repeatedly making these comments about the ONE topic we're discussing in this thread, after several level-headed comments from others, such as: "It is your inability to stop telling people that you did not like it, why you did not like it and repeatedly bringing up the gay aspect of the place that makes me wonder what ax you are grinding."
You pick the least impressive reasons to go to battle.

A -possible- explanation for the source of your apparent homophobia - "Gay people are disease ridden".
I get it.
But surely you are intelligent enough to realize that the nature of your employment determined the exposure you had.
I used to volunteer at a "Home for Wayward Girls" run by the Salvation Army. I did NOT conclude that all heterosexual fifteen year old girls got pregnant even though that was pretty much all I saw.
The context determines the exposure. QED.

HelperGuy,
She is completely disconnected from realty. Took me a while to realize that. Just add her to your "Ignore List". You will live longer as a result.
Trust me on this.

Re: El Piano Rojo
Yes, Parker, we do. Once again you choose to ignore the point others are making and go rambling over to your stall and begin grinding your tired old ax. It matters not how many times before someone has posted, belaboring is belaboring--and raises the question: why this time and this topic?

Let's look at the bright side folks.
The Red Piano is a newly formed entrepreneurial enterprise...not a social statement.
Sometimes controversy begets fame. ....and financial success.
to all the red pianos.

Re: El Piano Rojo
We had a great time at El Piano Rojo last night. The place was packed and the entertainment was really good. We will be regulars there.
Re: El Piano Rojo

It really is a nice venue, cozy and intimate, just the way we like it. Looks like our group of 6 will be regulars and we are looking forward to next week's show. The vocalist last night was amazing but I thought his guitarist stole the show.

Very kind, Trailrunner, but all the credit goes to the three partners - their vision, their execution. I am just the sound guy (and only got the gig because I'm sleeping with one of the owners!)
Sitting here in Dominican Republic systematically killing brain cells and, believe it or not, I am actually looking forward to getting back. Big fear is they will figure out that they don't need me!

And elsewhere. I just had a close friend (who, never, never goes anywhere) tell me that he is going to check out El Piano Rojo tonight.
Good luck Francine as you are bringing them out the woodwork
