Isn't being retired great?
I was sitting at the computer, minding my own business when my Vonage phone rang. It was some guy with a Indian accent telling me that he was from Microsoft and my computer MIGHT have some virus and he was calling to help me.
When I was working, I would have said "You stupid A$$, do you think I'm stupid" and hung up but now I'm retired. I also had a stopwatch at hand.
I cut off my computer, started the stopwatch and decided to have some fun.
My goal was to tie him up for 30 minutes, but I only managed 26 minutes before he caught on and hung up.
I have an old laptop about 12 years old. I decided that he could work on it so I plugged it up and let him have access. The thing hadn't been turned on in at least 2 years. The only thing on it is an out of date XP system and it must be 200 updates behind.
He found all kinds of problems and wanted a credit card to fix it all so I told him that I'd go get it. After a few minutes on hold, I told him that my wife had it and had gone shopping.
I was doing pretty good but I started laughing and he knew that he had been had.
They're right.... Retirement can be fun.

Nope. Just a clean copy of XP and Maleware. No files at all.
However, that didn't keep my friend from finding "a lot of problems". That was when I started laughing and he hung up on me.....

So Jim:
What English name did the fool give you? From my 6 years in India, I have some choice swear words that I like to use when they are getting to the end of their speal and those really get them! Really effective when you don't give them any warning that you are on to them.

The HD went several years ago and I bought a new computer. I bought a HD and am going to give it to my maids kid for Christmas. I loaded XP on it and let it update and it was sitting there handy.
I wanted to see what kind of problems he could find and he found a "lot of problems". That's when I started laughing....
I haven't looked to see if he loaded any spyware but it is a thought.
I think I'll DBAN the HD and reload XP just to make sure
