Interesting Developments in Tonala

Apparently, the powers that be in Tonala have awakened to the fact that their market days have changed quite a bit. The Thursday and Sunday market days were designed for artisans (especially those from the Tonala area) to show their wares. The evolution has been that clothing, pirated goods, imports and food have become a far larger part. With the realization that the arts & crafts industry in Tonala has been hit hard, the Mayor and the Tianguis organizers have decided to revamp the layout with artisans having exclusive areas of display. Yea but I love crap LOL!! Where else do you get cheap good glasses for example. I
would rather shop in Tonala than the fancy place but I like shiny stuff.

I am sure the mechants who are not selling artesania will have another tianguis another day or same day in another place. These guys do the round so their stuff can be found in other places than in Tonala.
