Leon Balloon Festival - Nov 16 - 19

Leon lays claim to being the largest Balloon Festival in Latin America. Last years festival had 200 balloons - quite an increase from the 27 balloons they had for their first festival in 2002! Many of the same balloons that we had here in Albuquerque for the World's Largest Balloon event in early October will be flying in Leon:

Leon is a fairly easy three hour drive from Lake Chapala on decent roads the entire route. These festivals can be a really fun event since you can get down on the field and up close and personal with the balloons.

By the way, most of the Special Shapes balloons are manufactured in Brazil.
