ADT Alarm
Hola
I just moved into a house with an ADT alarm system that goes off when it wants to. I do not have the master code. Is there someone local that I can call to reset it?

ADT isn't cheap....Owner should be able to take care of, if you are renting!
ADT is a motion system, locate the motion detector, put a piece of packing tape over it, until you find a solution.....

Find the AC plug and battery it could be in a locked box somewhere but if it is
not locked pull the plug on the AC and Disconnect one of the terminals on the
motorcycle sized battery normally used. It won't make a sound I promise you.

Re: ADT Alarm
Although I don't have ADT, my system also is 127 Volts (Mexican standards are different than the US and Canada.) My batteries are for a battery backup system should the power go out be it the fault of CFE or the bad guys.
FUI: Be careful with your electronics. Remember that in Mexico the electrical standards are different than up north. Here it's 127volts, +/- 10%. That's right, voltages as high as 139 are OK. That's why we need voltage regulators etc for equipment made to US or Canadian Standards which are different than the standards in Mexico.

Also remember the cheaper voltage regulators will also be plus or minus
10% on there regulation. You only know these things if you read the small
print or have a Voltage gauge running all the time. I see 125 to 131 with
a voltage regulator. More you pay better the regulation will be. Without the
regulator is goes up to 135/140 sometimes at night when they obviously
don't regulate the voltage on the grid. Pete and I monitor the voltage lakeside
so you don't have to. LOL Also do note they sell both 120V regulators and 127V
regulators.

Geeky stuff below
If you really want to be anal You can do like me and use a 4000 Joule pro surge
protector feeding a 2500watt voltage regulator feeding a Toroidal power filtering
system. Also after looking at some of the local UPS for sale around here when they
are on batteries they are creating a modified sine wave rather than a full sine wave.
You can tell if you measure the voltage on batteries which will be like 85V instead
of 127 when on the AC. Thats why I don't use a UPS. I can't afford a sine wave unit
and thats all I want. If you have a scope check it out and look at the wave form it
looks like little steps instead of a nice sine wave when on batteries.

If it is a normal alarm system it goes through a battery
anyway. AC just charges the motorcyle size deep cycle
battery. 120 127 probably wouldn't matter for a charger
circuit. Now fine fragile electronics thats a different
matter. Alarm systems need to be strong and dependable.
