Subway (not the kind you ride)
The past few days I tried twice to get a sandwich at the new Subway in the new mall across from Walmart. Two days ago the line was so long, I gave up and went home. Today at 4pm I stopped and they were out of bread!!! All bread. It was going to be 40 minutes until they had more and I didn't want to wait so they gave me a discount coupon for something.
Must be others besides me missed having a Subway around.

If you choose your "sandwich construction" carefully, it can be more healthy than most typical NOB "Fast Food"... but you can still load up on Subway's carbs, sodium and sugar — of course if you really love Subway, have at it. I haven't really missed it all that much, I'm not looking forward to KFC, Burger King, etc. showing up lakeside, either.

You are so right Ene. Even though Subway promotes Eat Fresh, their meats are prepared. Not only the sodium is a problem but also the nitrites and nitrates used as preservatives.

But you gotta love those nitrates. My favorite Subway is a large tuna with "triple" jalapenos. Goes down good but sometimes a bit of trouble the next day..........
Re: Subway (not the kind you ride)
They used to have "Crab on Toasted Cheese Bread" at Woodwards, no more Woodwards, then Subway used to have "Crab Salad" made with real good crab.....Now they have "Sea Food Fantasy" made with Pollock.

If you like hot things try it with the Jalapenos. You'll never go back.
Re: Subway (not the kind you ride)
Yum, I want jalapeños and tunafish on a bolillo, toasted. Lizzy

I wonder if they have the new BLT they were advertising on TV yet? I'd kill for a good BLT I didn't have to make myself.

I do sincerely hope that you all get a better sandwich than our Subway here produces.
We went for a BLT and a meatball sub, and they didn't look anything like the ads. Lizzy

Is there anywhere lakeside to get a good BLT? I don't know why I keep craving them. Somehow they taste better in a restaurant. Why, I don't know but it's the same with scrambled eggs.

Same way as a restaurant but I think cooking on the flat top makes restaurant ones better.

I think they are on the menu at Chimi's little restaurant across from LCS. Chimi's wife is a good cook. Makes hash browns from scratch and very good breakfasts and lunches. For a sinful treat, try her California omelet with the cream cheese chunks in it. Yum.

I'll have to check that out. I adore hash browns. Thanks.
