Re: Chapala cop cameos
Not all of Ajijic but the areas where after 10pm you wouldn´t want to walk around, which is 6 corners and much of the village around the plaza. It is nice living close to things but sometimes there is a tradeoff.
There are lots of crazy things happening that few people know about but all must exercise caution.
Chapala is mellower in the city center although yesterday bang bang.
I mean we want to have homes where we can go for a walk at night or to the store and not be prisoners from 10pm to 8am, right?
I guess a few pulques and the thought of people getting shot again in broad daylight sat wrong with me. The bad seems to be spreading and almost seemingly unavoidable.

I too had stayed with RoofBob for 5 weeks
And I always was interested in the local police department. I can say that all my experiences with them have been positive ones (In Chapala). I would walk by and say Hola and they would reply with “Hello how are you?” and a few times they even talked to me in English for a short time.
I had spoke with one young man and said “you are always here!” He said “yes I am” he too worked the day and night shift and spoke about how tired he gets and misses his family.
The biggest difference I see between the police in Chapala and maybe in USA is that the local Mexican police use what they have, do without and do what they can.
In America a cop is a thankless job!
I ask “How much more so here in Mexico?”

Thanks Spencer I just rented a house there! and move in on Sept 15th. Can it be as bad as having the Latin Kings and the Bloods living next door as I did in Washington? (cooking Meth)
