LEMONS - DR. MIKE - Do you want to weigh in? Empty LEMONS - DR. MIKE - Do you want to weigh in?

Post by johninajijic Fri Jul 27, 2012 6:50 pm

My mom use to buy lemons in 10lb bags and give them to us. ( Not all at once ) She always said it would clean your liver and your insides. I knew she should have been a doctor. Marilyn Howell

Many professionals in restaurants and eateries are using or consuming the entire lemon and nothing is wasted.

How can you use the whole lemon without waste?
Simple..place the lemon in the freezer section of your refrigerator. Once the lemon is frozen, get your grater, and shred the whole lemon (no need to peel it) and sprinkle it on top of your foods.

Sprinkle it on your whiskey, wine, vegetable salad, ice cream, soup, noodles, spaghetti sauce, rice, sushi, fish dishes.

All of the foods will unexpectedly have a wonderful taste, something that you may have never tasted before. Most likely, you only think of lemon juice and vitamin C. Not anymore. Now that you've learned this lemon secret, you can use lemon even in instant cup noodles.

What's the major advantage of using the whole lemon other than preventing waste and adding new taste to your dishes?

Well, lemon peels contain as much as 10 times more vitamins than the lemon juice itself. And yes, that's what you've been wasting.

From now on, follow the simple procedure of freezing the whole lemon, then grating it on top of your dishes and you will consume all of those nutrients and get even healthier.

Lemon peels are health rejuvenators by eradicating toxic elements in the body. So place your lemon in your freezer, and then grate it on your meals every day. It is a key to make your foods tastier and you get to live healthier and longer!

That's the lemon secret!

Better late than NEVER!

The surprising benefits of lemon! Lemon is a reliable product to kill cancer cells. It is 10,000 times stronger than chemotherapy.

Why don't we hear about that? Because there are laboratories interested in making a synthetic version that will bring them huge profits.

You can help a friend in need by letting him/her know that lemon juice is beneficial in preventing the disease. Its taste is pleasant and it does not produce the horrific effects of chemotherapy. indeed there are no bad effects
from lemons at all (unless you have a rare allergy to citrus).

Citrus trees yield a large varieties of lemons and limes, oranges and other fruit. You can eat the fruit in different ways: pulp, juice, drinks, sorbets, pastries, etc... Citrus, especially lemon, is credited with many virtues, but the most interesting is the effect it produces on cysts and tumors.

Whole citrus is reported as a reliable remedy against cancers of all types. Some say it is very effective versus all variants of cancer.

Whole citrus is considered also as an anti -microbial spectrum against bacterial infections and fungi, effective against internal parasites and worms, it regulates blood pressure which is too high and an antidepressant, combats stress and nervous disorders.

The source of this information is fascinating: it comes from one of the largest drug manufacturers in the world, says that after more than 20 laboratory tests since 1970, the extracts revealed that It destroys the malignant cells in 12 cancers, including colon, breast, prostate, lung and pancreas ...The compounds of this tree showed 10,000 times better than the product Adriamycin, a drug normally used chemotherapeutic in the world, slowing the growth of cancer cells. And what is even more astonishing: this type of therapy with lemon extract only destroys malignant cancer cells and it does not affect healthy cells.

From my knowledge of lemons what you've written is correct. Usually when my wife goes to the store she always buys me lemons. I eat the juice and pulp. Eating the entire fruit including the skin is probably a better way to go, just be sure to wash it thoroughly with soap and water and dry it before freezing.

The reason I like lemons and limes is they are both alkalinizing foods. Even though they are acidic food, they alkalininze your body. Bacteria, viruses and cancer like an acidic environment and an alkaline environment will kill them off. You can use pH paper from the pharmacy to see how acidic your body is...just test your saliva. As a naturopath I always tried to get my patients to an alkaline state by encouraging eating of lemons.

Again lemons are an acid food but causes the body to become alkaline (healthy state), in addition to being a superb overall cleanser of the liver, skin, and other organs of elimination. John is correct in his statements.

Eat lemons, or limes if you cannot get lemons (Rolly).

Dr. Mike - Thanks.

For those who don't know, you can buy real lemons in Costco although not cheap.

Super Lake sometimes has them too, very expensive, that's where he gets them.

viruses and cancer like an acidic environment and an alkaline environment will kill them off.

bolded for emphasis

here is what I do also... I only do once daily.

Alkaline-Forming Diet

So, how does this vinegar and honey remedy actually work? A person's bloodstream tends toward becoming acidic with our modern diet of fats, starches and processed foods, (e.g fast foods, meats, peanuts, seafoods, alcohol and coffee)and if your body is acidic, disease can flourish; if it is alkaline, it is in balance and can fight off germs and ailments such as bladder and kidney conditions, osteoporosis, brittle bones, joint pains, aching muscles, low energy and chronic fatigue, and slow digestion.

Raw fruits, leafy green vegetables, legumes, and tea are examples of alkaline forming foods. Interestingly and ironically, a food's acid or alkaline-forming tendency in the body has nothing to do with the actual pH of the food itself. For instance, lemons and limes are very acidic, however the end-products they produce after digestion and assimilation are very alkaline so lemons and limes are alkaline-forming in the body. Likewise, meat will test alkaline before digestion but it leaves very acidic residue in the body so, like nearly all animal products, meat is very acid-forming. It is important to know that stomach acid or the pH of the stomach is an entirely different matter from the pH of the body's fluids and tissues. The body has an acid-alkaline (or acid-base) ratio called the pH which is a balance between positively charges ions (acid-forming) and negatively charged ions (alkaline-forming). When this balance is compromised many problems can occur. The body is forced to borrow minerals—including calcium, sodium, potassium and magnesium from vital organs and bones to neutralize the acid and safely remove it from the body. And severe damage can be done to the body due to high acidity. Ideally, for most people, the ideal diet is 75 percent alkalizing and 25 percent acidifying foods by volume. Allergic reactions and other forms of stress also tend to produce excessive acids in the body.

The alkaline-forming ability of apple cider vinegar can correct excess acidity in our system and help prevent and fight infection. Honey added to the vinegar naturally makes the mixture more drinkable for people. And the good news is that unprocessed raw honey has been classfified as an alkaline-forming food.

How about honey, is it acidic? Every sweet food has a low pH and that is the nature of sugar. However, researchers have discovered that 45 minutes after eating honey, blood tests showed more alkalinity. Diabetics also have lower blood sugar 45 minutes after eating honey. This is because, unlike processed sugar and artifical sweeteners, honey is very quickly absorbed into the body cells for fuel use, rather than sitting in the blood.

When you first drink the apple cider vinegar formula, it might taste horrible to you, but as your body becomes less acidic and more alkaline, it would begin to taste good. The ailments that could be cured by this apple cider vinegar and honey treatment include:

. Premature aging

2. Obesity

3. Food poisoning

4. Heat exhaustion

5. Heartburn

6. Brittle nails

7. Bad breath

8. Arthritis

9. High blood pressure

10. High cholesterol level

11. Eczema

Try this healthy and refreshing vinegar and honey drink!

Essentially, to prepare:

* Mix a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar and a tablespoon of raw honey. (Apple cider vinegar is actually made from fresh, organic, crushed apples that are allowed to mature naturally in wooden barrels, but you can get it easily from the grocery shops or supermarkets.)

* Dissolve in a glass of chilled water.

* Take it twice daily.

Note: For this vinegar and honey remedy, do not get commercial distilled vinegars as they do not contain the same health values of organic, raw apple cider vinegar. The powerful enzymes and minerals like potassium, phosphorus, sodium, magnesium, sulphur, iron copper, fluorine, silicon, pectin and natural malic and tartaric acids, which are important in fighting body toxins and inhibiting bacteria growth, are all destroyed during the distilling process.

I just ordered some of the vinegar and raw honey. I ordered from iherb.com which I have used for ordering liquid, alcohol-free stevia. You can enter this promo code and get $5 off your first order and I get "credits." Just thought I'd pass this along.

code: BUG029

**I don't work for them or anything - just get credits if you use the code - and I'm a happy customer of theirs and their prices are good.

You can get Bragg's Raw Unpasteurized Apple Cider Vinegar at Superlake...on the bottom shelf with all the other vinegar's.
Really good pure honey is questionable since a number of vendors cut their real honey with corn syrup. I would really like to know where to get REAL unadulterated honey here at lakeside. Google tells me that sugar ants will not touch real honey...but I'll be darned if I can find a sugar ant when I want to.
Espiritu's post raises a very interesting point with regards to the importance of an acid stomach.
It is important to know that stomach acid or the pH of the stomach is an entirely different matter from the pH of the body's fluids and tissues.
Without a properly acidic stomach, food cannot be digested properly and causes both absorption and intestinal problems. The symptoms for a low acid stomach and a too acid stomach are identical. To further complicate matters, an antacid will relieve both sets of symptoms. I wish there was an easy way to figure out which way one swings...the bicarbonate test is iffy (google).
Anyway, the links below are FYI...

Ferret, check out the honey at the Chapala Consignment Shop. It's very tasty and they say it comes directly from the bee guy. It's inexpensive and that makes me wonder.

Also, Dra. Nina, the veterinarian in Joco, keeps bees and sells honey. I doubt she would cut it with corn syrup as she takes great pride in the honey from her bees.

There are a few honey tests but I've never been successful in determining anything from them.

Make limonada with the whole lime. Just cut them up and put them in the blender with the water and sweetener of your choice. Strain and serve.

I just received my order of the vinegar and honey. The honey has bits of the comb and the bee pollen - it is not strained. I think that is how you would be able to tell if it is true, not "cut" honey. Just my 2cents.

That sounds like ma good idea. I presume you use the seedless Persian Limes vs. the Limones Agrias with seeds. I say that because it seems to me the seeds ground up in a blender would add a degree of bitterness to the brew. We use Persian Limes for limeade but Colima Limes (Limones Agrias) for food.

Another fun way to make limeade is the Thai way (kind of). Squeeze the limes and throw in the cut up limes along with the juice into a heat proof glass bowl. Pour boiling water over the limes and juice and let this steep until the liquid has cooled. I say kind of like the Thai way because I understand the Thais typically salt this concoction which we don´t do. We add Splenda or Truvia Stevia to this to sweeten to taste because we don´t like to use sugar or honey for this but that´s your choice.
