microsoft windows component publisher
microsoft windows component publisher
I thought there was a tech section on the board ?
Anyway tried MS Windows updates today with XP and IE8 and kept getting prompted to install "microsoft windows component publisher". If I said yes or no ... it would lock up the browser. Went search and found a fix.
1. Click Start.
2. Click Control Panel.
3. Click Help and Support. (left side)
4. Under the heading "Pick a task", click Windows Update.
5. Once you get to Windows Update, you will see again the Internet Explorer security window asking you if you want to install or not install the software. Go ahead and click "install" and right away it will prompt you back to the Windows Update home page.
Didn't even know there was a Windows Update as part of XP. Move this if there is a tech section
