John, you may have started this topic, but you do not "own" it. To answer your question "What does tartar sauce have to do with a MANIX restaurant review" the very FIRST reply to your OP included this:

"As any aficionado of fried breaded shrimp knows, the secret is in the tartar sauce and Manix´is pretty good considering that is not a sauce typically found in much of Mexico."

You are welcome.
Merry

Fried Breaded Shrimp. Almost any moron can make good fried breaded shrimp and it totally SUCKED at Manix last time. Very, very greasy. And any moron can make tartar sauce too.

And Pete says "John means well". Sometimes hard to believe with his caustic remarks.

Helper Guy...I think Merry believes you should post your recipe on each new page of this topic. scratch

John...Helper Guy is not just "any moron"...he's special, I know him... Very Happy

As far as being caustic you'd better start looking at the 3 or 4 other people on here who constantly attack forum members.

My post was a general post and was not aimed at Helper Guy. I can see from his other posts that he seems to be a good guy.

That's right, I'm not just "any" moron... I'm a special one. Slainte would know. And for those of you who don't have the energy to check out the previous page on this thread, I hope you all enjoy my easy-to-make, secret Tartar recipe:
• capers
• mayonnaise
• salad dressing (Miracle Whip) or not (mayo with sugar & mustard instead)
• onion power/flakes
• lemon juice
• garlic salt
• dill relish
• salt & pepper
Use your own judgment on each amount, based on how much mayo you start with.

Why, Hockables, did you have rabbit at MANIX? With or without tartar sauce?

He didn't have rabbit at Manix, they don't serve it. But he did have it at Hacienda Ajijic without tartar sauce.

Well dammit, as long as we stay on topic! Was it good without the tartar sauce?
