Why is China constructing large, well-designed “ghost cities” ?

that are completely devoid of people? WTF?


Business Insider ran a series of photos of these Chinese ghost cities. One showed no cars in the city except for approximately 100 parked in largely empty lots clustered around a government building, and another showed a beautiful wetland park with people added using Photoshop.

At the time, China had an estimated inventory of 64 million vacant homes and was building up to 20 new ghost cities a year on the country’s “vast swathes of free land.”

China loves Africa for it's minerals.

There must be something they love in Mexico as well saw a whole bunch of them at the airport, not tourists either. They also have fallen in love with Latin America..anywhere there is a buck to be made, they are not far behind.

One of the attractions of Mexico for the Chinese are the unique arts and crafts that they can "knock off". The town of Santa Clara del Cobre learned the hard way by allowing the Chinese tourists to take photos or purchase samples of their copper products. Not only are exact copies coming out of China but the Chinese have been able to replicate using machines at a much lower cost. These days if a Chinese is spotted in Santa Clara del Cobre, word is passed around town in a rapid fashion and merchants not only watch them like hawks but they also refuse to sell to them.

And they most certainly love Vancouver........driving the real estate prices out of reach for most Canadians.

Besides their interest in French girls with sexy accent and somewhat large tits they are also buying a lot of the upper end properties in Paris.

Isn't that why it's called "Hongcouver"?

We once lived in an area just like this and as it turned out it was an investment to protect their money and future speculation. Paper is just paper but land and buildings will always have some worth. Plus, I believe that Chinas elderly population is getting larger and need/want better living environments.
