Would some of you with access to TV and/or Mexican news please post some election results as they start coming in? Would really appreciate it. Thanks.

I'm going to cruise down to the polls and see how it's going.

Cool, thanks, CG, just what I was looking for.

Looks like this link to follow:

http://www.eluniversal.com.mx/notas/856645.html

There is a lot of news on that link, some of it not good. Let's not discuss it on this thread, let's keep this results only so CBob doesn't have to go crazy policing it.

My husband just came back from voting. In his words...Es un pinche desmadre.

One line is electronic (local election) and one line (national election) is not electronic, otherwise known as "paper". This could take a while.

My just got back from voting, she said it was easy especially since her name starts with the letter A and they were going in alphabetical order.

As can and does happen most anywhere, INFORMADOR is reporting broken voting machines in various communities including Ixtlahuacán and Jocotepec:

lol

SAT casilla and centro are packed, orderly, people quiet and serious nobody joking around, with Chapala cops and bomberos standing by. Felt tension in the air.

A neighbor just called to say another neighbor has admitted to accepting the PRI voucher for 1000 pesos to vote PRI.

A thousand pesos per vote? That's kinda hard to believe but If they're throwing that kind of money around they've got it locked, wish they had come to our house.

I'm glad to see a little Spanish showing up on the forum. Don't do too much though or one of the more well known posters will demand that you translate it.

Re D.F. can't imagine anything but. However, Pan quite possibly has taken the Chapala municipality presidencia. But looking at all the results that are in so far, PRI seems to be ruling....

And yes, lots and lots of reports of vote buying for a long while now, up to today...and many many more reports of abnormalities. Having worked elections (long term monitoring/observing/training) in SE Asia and El Salvador, from one week to six month periods for the UN and USG ...these elections will be pronounced 'free and fair' and 'transparent' and life in Mexico will go on.

Free and Fair and Transparent like the Bush election in FL or the illegals and dead people voting for Obama. Too funny.

The PRI's national leader, Pedro Joaquin Coldwell, said his party won the governorships of Jalisco, Chiapas, Yucatan and Tabasco.
In a first cut made, Coldwell said the results show trends competed in Morelos and Guanajuato, so it is not possible to give a preview.
The PRI's national leader said that in the case of the Presidency of the Republic is not possible to present trends, since there are entities in the north of the country that have not closed boxes, so criticized that the PRD was proclaimed winner in what he called a violation of law.

All holy hell has broken loose in Chapala. It looks like PAN has taken the local presidential election. The police are flying around all locked and loaded and actually in a firing stance in the back of the trucks for some reason, seems a little drastic for crowd control...and boy is there a crowd...but whatever.

Centro near the main st....All of the real action seems to be heading toward the Lienzo Charro...it's just wild! Been an exciting day.

Someone came around a couple of weeks ago trying to recruit my husband to help at the polls...He looked like he was going to cry.
It sounded like a blast to me and I would have done it in a heartbeat, he just wanted to be out of the whole deal.
It's good to see the town so excited about something.
