What a disappointment in Ajijic, it hardly got dark out, I was expecting to have to turn on light in Casa...

Go the NASA site that Ibarra posted on TOB... you will get to see the eclipse over and over again. I have now seen totality in Mazatlan, Torreon, Kerriville and Dallas. Very cool.

Didn't have any eclipse glasses, but just watched it here in Sayulita in the shoebox pinhole camera I made. We had about 95% coverage. It did get eeirily dark (and a bit chilly), not at all like a cloud passing over. Pretty cool.

Border patrol and the migrant's buddies didn't bother telling the one guy not to look at it without the eclipse glasses, I see.

I watched the eclipse on NASA streaming here in Ajijic. Got a little bit dark but nothing spectacular. I've been monitoring the path. It seems as though my hometown of Wapakoneta, OH was in the direct path of the totality. I'll contact friends there to see what they experienced.

I live in Columbus, Ohio and we were able to see the total eclipse really well. At 80 I'm sure I won't see the next one. We use to come to Ajijic every year but had to stop coming due to heath care coverage. I loved it there and miss it so much. Enjoy the really special place. Jejack

If you did not get to see a "live" total eclipse, I feel sorry for you. Watching it on a laptop or TV screen is just not the same as being there at ground zero. They are so rare, it is worth the trip to go see it.

I have seen 2 total eclipses in my lifetime and chose not to go to MO to see it even though I have a friend I could have stayed with. He was blown away by it and I am happy for him and for all who got to witness this very special experience. I think the next one is in 2044. I probably will not be alive to see it.

Eclipse path for Aug 12, 2045 will take it from the western US through Little Rock Arkansas down to Tallahassee & Orlando Fl. It will be our 67 Wedding Anniversary if we are still alive and kicking.

Lots of others in the world to see before then... https://edition.cnn.com/world/next-total-solar-eclipse-2044-scn/index.html
If you want to travel on August 12th, 2026, it's available for a total eclipse that coincides with your wedding anniversary. Congrats!

I was at Multiva at the time of the eclipse. Just east a few doors is a sushi place with a ficus tree in front. An Australian Shepherd was staring at the sidewalk under the ficus tree and we could see dozens of images of the sun/eclipse reflected on the sidewalk that were popping thru the leaves of the ficus. Wish in retrospect I had taken a foto.

Cool. Especially that it just hapoened without anyone setting something up. I used my shoebox pinhole camera, but I also got the same effect as the ficus leaves using my colander. Had about 30 little mini eclipses on my terrace.
