The Decor just keeps the Riff-Raff out so the rest of us can enjoy our Red Meat!! grrrrrlll...

We love the funkiness of Bruno's. We had plans with another couple about a month ago to have dinner at Bruno's. It was during that few days of hard rain. We knew we were going to have a "Mexican experience" going in, we knew we might get a bit wet. We laughed as the raindrops splashed into puddles and splashed us. We had a great meal and a fun time. Attitude is Everything.

Dawg, next time you go in look around at all the movable plastic chairs and tables.

The question here is: when did Dawg last set foot in Bruno's? Or Vicky's?

If you happen to be members of TripAdvisor, you might do Bruno's a favor by writting a review of your experiences and opinions. Right now, they are ranked #17 of 50 Ajijic restaurants. Back in August of 2011, I jumped through the necessary hoops to get them listed after we visited them after a number of years of not doing so. At the time, I found it incredible that they had not been previously listed after all the years they had been in business.

Dawg thinks that Bruno's has the best steak and baked russet potatoes in all of Lakeside but I only went there once in about 2002. Dawg is a big fat fellow and Bruno has these cheap assed to bit chairs nailed to the floor so close to the tables that Dawg´s expansive stomach rubs up against the table while eating. An idiotic idea conceived by a maniac. Is Bruno afraid some idiot is going to steal his two bit chairs if he does not nail them into the floor? This fellow has the best steak at Lakeside but his restaurant is a craphole. What a shame that that mediocre craphole Aijic Tango draws morons like flies to turdballs while Brunos, whch serves the best steak and potatoes at Lakeside, suffers because Bruno is an idiot.

Dawg used to go to Vicky´s La Canacinta Hideaway all the time , Great steaks and a fine bar. Gone with the wind.

Bruno personally tested all the seating space and dimensions from the chair backs to the tables. Problem was that Bruno could only hit 60 kilos if he was caught in a torrential down pour. lol!

I suggest that Dawg can now enjoy Bruno's fine steak and potatoes, since the chairs are not nailed to the floor, the patio has a covering and there has been some attempt at visual improvements.

Things often change in eleven years. Suspect

I heard somewhere that the person who used to have the Thirsty Turtle was relocating to the former Vicky's. ???
You know, the guy who was banishing the non smokers to the outdoors.

A few years ago (4 or 5?) Bruno sold a Bruno's franchise to someone in Guadalajara and spent many hours supervising their set up, menu etc.. Haven't heard anything about it since.

It fell through, according to Bruno, shortly after talks began.
