Water Taxi from Ajijic to San Luis Soyatlan
We took the water taxi from the Ajijic pier to San Luis Soyatlan this morning. The trip takes about 40 minutes. The taxi is very nice and comfortable. They departed right on time. Very enjoyable.

Glad you enjoyed your trip to the better side of the lake!! The beer is colder and cheaper here.
Thought this might be a good time to mention we are going to be giving away a pair of ferry tickets and lunch for 2 at Los Crotos in San Luis Soyatlan.
I'm going to finalize what its going to take to win the prize next week and will be announcing the rules shortly after that.

We went by Los Crotos and it appeared to be closed so we went to a little cantina down the street and got 3 hamburguesas and 3 cervezas for 120 pesos. Pretty good deal indeed.

If the door at the sidewalk was open he was too. Arturo has a habit of keeping the inside gate closed and secured with a massive looking plastic chain. He does have a door bell to ring if all that fails.
He is now closed Monday's but of course that has nothing to do with today.
We have to see Arturo about his lunch give a way and will mention the gate problem to him.

"Vuelta completa", as shown on their sign, means full (re)turn.Just like the guys and gals do on the plaza at fiesta time.

We did this with a group of our friends and really enjoyed it. A very comfortable boat and you get a visual perspective of the area you'll never see from a car. Highly recommended.
Best to call Los Crotos on the days you want to go and make sure they will be there to accomodate you. Unfortunately on our trip they were having some personnel pains and the fare and service was not up to the usual high standards. We've assumed this was transitory and will be back.

Los Crotos has a couple of signs up at the door saying they are closed Mondays. This will be reflected on their website soon.
They also have made some changes upstairs and now have a 5th room. That too will be on their website soon.

I'd still ring the bell if I showed up on a Monday... you never know in Mexico.

A group of us went a week or two before that - we did have reservations - and had great service and great food. Sure hope problems are transitory as I really really liked that place. I had eaten at Roberto's the previous evening. The difference was major - service and food at Los Crotos was great and the price was about the same - whereas it was a 3 hour meal at Robertos as they had a problem with service and we thought the food portions were spartan.Mainecoons wrote:We did this with a group of our friends and really enjoyed it.
