Coumadin
Does anyone on this Board take Coumadin (rather than Plavix). My Pulmonologist tells me that the clots I had in my lungs will not respond to Plavix (which I am currently taking) but will respond to Coumadin. He wants to switch me to Coumadin.
If you do take it, is there a Coumadin clinic in the Lakeside area?
How much costs are the Labs?
How accurate are they?
Do they fax the results to you US doctor?
Any information that you can pass on to me will be appreciated.

Re: Coumadin
My husband takes Coumadin for blood clots in his lungs also. Dr.Juan Pablo Loza Mendez is his doctor. He is in Chapala. The lab test is $110.00 pesos and they email the results to Dr. Juan Pablo. We are very pleased with the careful monitoring by Dr. Juan Pablo. He emails or calls us if he thinks there is a need for a change in dosage. As far as we are concerned, his quick response to the issues saved my husband's life six months ago.

Re: Coumadin
Thank you, cherchacha for your quick and thorough response. I was afraid the lab test was much more expensive than that. In the US, with my Medicare Advantage Plan the test and monitoring are free. I will probably be switched back to Coumadin and I'll check out Dr. Pablo.
Thanks

Once subtle,
Is this the doctor you use that can make house calls. I will definitely email him.
Thanks

I'm smiling...bienvenidos a Mexico...nearly ALL Doctors make housecalls. They give you their work number, their home number, their cell phone number and their e-mail address. It's sheer bliss to be so well looked after.
