Noise above Chapala Haciendas??

Anyone else hearing it? Pow! Shotgun type and then in a distance going north. I'm walking my dog so they'd better finish.

Seems to be over now...guess making noise as they leave town...

hubby heard it too. It's in a distance up north & doesn't appear to be on the main highway. First shot was very close, then a second, then muffles of shots in a distance. I went outside w/my coffee & heard some more muffled up in the hills....The hills are alive!!! Sometimes they like to go up where they mine rock...Life goes on. Gonna walk the dog & do my thing today. They aren't bothering me & the carratera is running just fine :)

Could be someone shooting squirrels or another animal? We cannot be scared of every noise, otherwise time to move back NOB. I don't pay much attention to noises. This is noisy Mexico.

The OP didn't say she was scared but simply alert.

figured you slept through it...so many have hearing aids around here & could sleep peacefully through an invasion with bombs ;o). Have you ever heard gunfire from your house aside from New Years? The first one was the loudest & definitely a shotgun, close to my house, then a second a ways off...Probably just hoodlums making noise as they drove outta Dodge cause they didn't get caught. Maybe it was a big squirrel Bullwinkle!

Got to thinking perhaps the muffled sounds were at the rock quarry...they probably use a little explosives from time to time no? idk.

Woke to yet another gunshot this a.m. I thought I dreamt it but hubby said he was walking the dog w/our daughter & they had also heard it. Maybe it's one of the neighbors, I know one loco gringo that owns a gun & have heard others sound off on New Years. Hoodlums I say!

Not with guns, hehe a gun is a gun....a blast is a blast! The boom, booms muffled in a distance could have been mountain blasting but the gunshots were from guns.

Yes I have been here 3 years, the shots the other morning were from a large caliber gun, not fireworks, couple of rapid shots, then single, etc. I was up early and heading to Ixtlauhuacan, and had some concern. Sounded more like fire from a police gun, as I have heard some of them go off.

We usta have same problem here in Saskatchewan...

Overheard neighbours at the lake huddled around coffee row... sharing their concerns about all them damned biker fellas comin out late at night and shooting the place up....

Connie heard about it too.... She locked up all the guns and the booze....

Bikers don't come out ta the lake anymore....
