Steak: Bruno's Baseball filet

Fish: A tossup.......Yves, Tony's, Roberto's

Burger: Two classes: Under 50 pesos.......Chimi's
Over 50 pesos: Tony's

Pizza.......oh dear......have to return to California for that.
Well......okay.......maybe the one out past Chapala, bad road, flies and all.

My opinion.
Best Filet - Chac Lan or 2) Hacienda or Bruno's

Best - Italian - Angelica's Bistro - Worst - La Taverna

Fish - Tony's - Worst - cannot rate

Hamburger - 60's in Paradise - Worst - hard to rate, but Early Bird was terrible

Pizza - Best - Tratorria di Axixix - Worst -NR
(Must return to MA for authentic North End Pizza at Regina Pizzeria, consistently flawless for over60 years, thin crust, dripping with olive oil - Can't wait to return this year)

Comfort Food - Best - Panino - Worst - Mom's

Mexican Food - Cannot rate

Foul: You added categories. lol.

Comfort food.........hmm. Depends on what's comforting. Okay: Panino's is good. Worst: Bubba's, tied with Mom's.

Italian: Best: John's house. (Just ask him.) Or Angelica's. Toscana, if the owner isn't in a bad mood. Worst: several contenders, but La Taverna is right in there.

Mexican: Best: Probably the local blue tarp joints or tamales from Hole in the Wall. Worst: haven't the heart to name names. So many choices.

You're too fast. I was editing the post. Yep, John's house for Italian. You'll have to ask CanuckBob after he's been here. We'll have to find out if he likes Italian.

Best Filet or any type of Steak-Brunos + Tango/Hacienda Ajijic tied for second. We like all three greatly for steak. Tango best for sides.

Best Italian food-can't rate until John invites us to his place. Very Happy

Best Fish-Tonys

Best Hamburger - Turtle before it got all screwed up, Tony's, Cafe Magana. Used to like 60's, bad burger and fries last trip.

Best Pizza-Costco for us

Best Comfort Food-Pizza at Costco

Best Mexican food-If you mean Tex Mex, haven't found any decent here. Authentic & cheap: Hole In The Wall Best by far: Cinco Portrillos

You cheated, MC.

Costco, which is undeniably the best, isn't HERE. And, just to split a few more hairs, the pizza in their deli box doesn't have as good a crust as the one from the window.

What is with this constant fixation with food? If I spent that much time worrying and thinking about it, I would be 300+ pounds!

I just thought it might be a light hearted interesting topic for some.

But I only weigh 220 lbs and yes I'm overweight and I eat less than most of you. But we eat good quality food at home.

But, but........how is it that you "eat less than most of you" when you're the guy who complains about portion size at some restaurants and we don't???

I think John knows I'm just ribbing him. Besides, he's the ideal weight for a guy around 6'4". No problem.

Parker - I eat breakfast which consists of tomato juice to take my meds. Cantoloupe every AM. Two pieces of that special Costco bread or Bimbo Linaza. Eggs, Bacon and Sausage two mornings a week and coffee.

And one meal at night with potato and veggie and always with a salad.

gringal - I know you are usually kidding.

I know you were both kidding and John I could really care less what, when or how you eat whatever, just passing some time and wanted to be involved. Very Happy

One cannot purchase a decent steak, Italian meal, fish dish, hamburger or pizza anywhere at Lakeside. That you would inquire is indicative of your having spent years pent up in nowhere. Otherwise, I have no opinion.

Dawg does, however, like part of your breakfast, John. I would say 1/2 glass of vodka, 1/4 glass of fresh tomato juice, 1/8 glass of orange juice, 1/8 glass of lime juice, 1/8 glass of Tabasco Sauce and if that doesn´t add up, remember the source.
