Personally, I cannot figure just why the Federal Prosecutors cut a deal for 25 years. As long as the US keeps cutting these "deals", they are not giving the impression that these actions have serious consequences.

Well at least he may stay locked up in the US...........
Re: Mexican Drug Kingpin gets 25 year sentence in the US
You can pretty much bet that he will stay where he is parked until the end of his sentence in the US. Supposedly, he has 22 more years to be served in Mexico once he is released around age 80 here. The article doesn't say where he will serve his term but hopefully it will be at Super Max in Colorado!

Plenty more where he came from. The war on drugs is working about as well as the war on poverty did. Although it is true that the latter has definitely resulted in a great number of decidedly not poverty stricken government workers. As has the former.

I like it when these guys have to do their time NOB,no pizzas, hookers or 8balls delivered to their cells like down here, not much chance of bribing the guards for an early release either. The news accounts of the near capture of El Chapo in Los Cabos a couple of weeks ago were pretty humorous.

Anyone for a side bet on El Chapo being apprehended in a "miracle arrest" right before the National Election?

So what's the big deal? The "Drug War" keeps on raging. Someone else stepped into his empty shoes long ago. This shit is just propaganda aimed at maintaining support for the continuation of prohibition. Solves nothing. Just keeps the sheep satisfied.

Absolutely agree. The drug "war" is a failed sham and a very bad joke.

And now we have the Terrorist war to add to the obviously failed drug war. Bye Bye rights they are flying out the window and nobody cares in government.

Let's see if I got this straight:
We spend hundreds of millions of dollars to apprehend these Bassturds and then let them plea bargain so as to save a few dollars.
I must be missing something.
