New Clinic
Ironically, I was just talking with a friend in the State of Queretaro yesterday and he asked if I knew anything about a new clinic opening in Ajijic that was setup to accept VA or Tricare. Since I had not read anything on any of the forums, I said that I had no info. Today on TOB, someone broke the news: http://www.chapala.com/webboard/index.php?showtopic=34721
In looking at their website ( http://www.medijic.com/ ), it appears that they not only are setup to accept VA and Tricare but also major non-Mexican Insurance and Canadian Provincial Health Care.

Re: New Clinic
I sent the clinic link to my friend in Queretaro and he placed a phone call to the clinic. Ended up leaving a voice mail but was amazed when he received a return phone call within about 15 minutes. He apparently talked to the head doctor that is putting this whole thing together. Not only are they working on aligning doctors in San Miguel de Allende but also Queretaro. From what he was told, they own the prescription distribution company in the US and all drugs are approved by NOB standards. Obviously, this is a developing story but it may appear that someone has finally figured out how to tie healthcare SOB to NOB. My friend stated that he was really impressed by the answers he received and the manner in which they were presented. In his case, he is 90% disabled by the VA and has been looking at various alternatives to having to travel to Texas for care.

new Clinic
I went to my first appointment at the new clinic 2 weeks ago. All Doctors are American, all but the Psychiatrist have been in the Military. This is just the beginning like a forward operating base, this is a very large building, running 1 exam and 1 treatment room so far. They are in the process of hiring a nurse, just hired a Paramedic and 2 Ambulances. The Psychiatrist comes from Guadalajara on Thursdays 1000. They are also contracting for xray equipment. There main interest is to care for the retired and disabled Veteran community. You may stop and they will talk to you and explain what they are doing don't need an appointment for that. I came away with a good and comfortable feeling. The main drive is to get you registered and qualified for there services with out paying any money. The owner is Dr Fischman, and the Doctor I saw is Dr Dickson, GP and rehab specialist. The only dowside of this is it is across the street from Bruno's with not much parking, but we walked. I have already had 3 more appointments. They will treat anyone, not just Military, you can pay by CC, check or use other insurances

Re: New Clinic
I hope someone posts about this clinic, I have never heard anything about them or their medicine. Good docs? Not so good? Do they really handle all the paperwork for vets and others? Does anyone use this clinic?

Re: New Clinic
This looks like the same clinic that has been here for several years. I recognize the names of the administrator, Ian, and the physical therapist Cesar. While I was going there for physical therapy many of the doctors there left and it looks like they have a new slate of doctors. I don't know any of the current doctors, I saw a Dr. Luis who is no longer there but he was excellent. Have had PT with Cesar and he is good.
