Garden tools
Are there any better quality brands of garden tools sold in Ajijic than truper?

I think you'll have to go to Home Depot. Truper are pretty poor tools, that's for sure. I generally haul mine down from the states.

Craftsman at Sear's "Guaranteed for Life". You won't find that quality in Home Depot. The Home Depot products here are inferior to the US as is the store.

John:
Your Craftsman statement would have certainly been correct a number of years ago but I would be very hesitant to believe such a claim any longer. Sears and Kmart are the same corporation now with Craftsman also being sold at Kmart. In a business article that came out around the first of the year had Sears on the "endangered list" of stores that may not survive 2012. They have announced the closing of approx. 5% of their store locations with more on the horizon.

Double check the guarantee.... It's not your father's guarantee any longer.

In any case, I would still buy Craftsman, not Sear's over Truper any day of the week. Better quality guaranteed or not.

Re: Garden tools
It looks to me like the Ace hardware in Chapala has changed hands and is no longer Ace. Anyone else notice that?
