MEXICANA to fly again
After many fits and starts, it appears that just maybe MEXICANA will start flying again in April or May:

Re: MEXICANA to fly again
Can't imagine how this will amount to anything as they are only going to have like 7 planes??
Man I wish SOMEONE besides American would fly direct to Dallas. Mystifies me why Volaris hasn't initiated flights to Love Field to connect with Southwest, with whom it is partnered.

MC:
In another article from EL UNIVERSAL which I didn't link because the translation was somewhat confusing, they make the following statement: "He stressed that the business plan set to start flying with 7 aircraft in the same number of routes and then progressively to reach 44 aircraft in 12 months, "if everything is true."
http://www.eluniversal.com.mx/finanzas/93320.html
It is my understanding that Volaris has a number of applications in for landing permits in other cities. I would doubt Love Field unless they already have US Customs facilities?

Ah, thanks CG. Wonder how we can find out if Dallas is on the list of cities Volaris is applying for.
Good point about Love and custom facilities. Don't know the answer to that.

Re: MEXICANA to fly again
Here are a couple of articles on routes that Volaris has applied for:
http://www.routesonline.com/news/36/the-hub/99885/volaris-applies-for-us-route-licences/
http://aviationblog.dallasnews.com/archives/2011/02/volaris-get-us-approval-for-df.html
It appears that Mexico City - DFW has already been approved and there are pending applications from certain Mexican Cities to San Antonio, Austin, Houston, Ft Lauderdale, New York City and Miami.

Re: MEXICANA to fly again
Thanks, unfortunately I don't see GDL-DFW on any of those lists. I believe Mexicana used to fly that route, maybe they will again some day.

RE: GDL - DFW
Apparently, American Airlines has been fighting many of the Volaris applications tooth and nail. My guess is that they would fight pretty hard against such an application?

Re: MEXICANA to fly again
My guess is that your guess is pretty good as they are really soaking the passengers on that route.
