Fundraiser for Daniel Jackson & nephew Mar. 1 - 3 to 7pm

The Score sports bar will host a fundraiser for Ajijic jeweller Daniel Jackson Garcia and his 17 year old nephew on Thursday, March 1 between 3 PM and 7 PM in an effort to raise funds to offset medical and equipment expenses incurred during a recent devasting gas explosion.

Garcia and his nephew were severely burned recently during a gas explosion that destroyed all of Garcias' equipment and the third floor of his house. Although Garcia hopes to be back at work next month, his nephew suffered second degree burns and is undergoing painful skin grafts causing him to forfeit his high school year.

A group of Garcia's friends have organized the fund raiser which will include a 50/50 draw, raffle and silent auction. Prizes include free accomodation at an Ajijic B & B, golf passses and a host of other goods including pictures donated by Ajijic photographers Rebecca Ford and Jill Fessenden. The Score is offering Pizza by the slice along with several drink specials. A donation box will allow attendees to make a contribution. The Score Sports bar is located on the lake side of the carretera, adjacent to Strom White Movers and across the road from Roberto's restaurant.
