Fraccionamiento or condominium

Just moved down last tuesday and still moving in. Had a notice of a Fraccionamiento meeting. One of the items listed was to change from Fraccionamiento to Condominium. I have no idea of the difference and/or the impact on my property value or rights. I would be grateful if anyone could explain the difference? First post after lurking for years from the US.

It means that we can become totally closed, walled in, I got the notice also and know of the Presidents plans.
Make sure you go to the office and ask for a Neighborhood Watch packet, I am the coordinator.

Perhaps they want to impose more rules or make it easier to make people follow them and collect fees from delinquent owners. Collection is easier in a condo and many condos, while not perfect, have their papers drawn up better than simple fraccs where enforcement and collection can be problematic.
