Roca Azul body (again)
I just talked to my mechanic this afternoon and he made mention that there was a body dumped at the entrance to Roca Azul day before yesterday. This came directly from the horses mouth and this is all he knew. I forgot to ask him what type of the day this was but it had to be daytime as he was headed to Jocotepec on business.
Anyone hear anything more about this?

Interesting considering that folks on crapola were recommending to a woman that she pitch a tent in Roca Azul to get away from the noise in Ajijic.

Re: Roca Azul body (again)
This was reported in the Guadalajara papers. It was an unidentified man about thirty years old, bound and strangled and left near the Jocotepec-Atizapán highway at Roca Azul. About a week ago a similarly executed person was found in the El Molino community (the other murder at El Molino Sunday was from a family dispute over land).

family disputes have nothing to do w/us. its not a home invasion, or a dangerous shooting. there are hunrads of "in house" murders in low income ghettos in the US. no one talks about it because its not connected. its gossip, the land problem is not our problem. thats the way other folks settle things! ban me for smoking & using the "G" word.

I hardly think that a tied up dead guy with his throat slit hundreds of meters away from the nearest house on the side of Mex15 would likely fall into the domestic dispute category. And yes this does affect me as I drive past this area several times a week. I don't know about you but I'd hate to be the guy who witnessed the person or persons throwing bodies onto the side of the road.
Re: Roca Azul body (again)
The family dispute murder was a different one from the guy found dumped in Roca Azul...it was the murder in El Molino...Ricardo refered to it above Susan's post.

I) don´t know how one can determine if a body found in Roca Azul is a result of a criminal act since anyone resident there has long been dead to begin with. This is the only place I know where it is not necessary to bury the deceased since the morbid homes there can easily serve as tombstones and the dead can simply continue to mummiify.

cant say who did this, most likely drug related. BUT family disputes can be very emotional. dont forget, violence begins as home.

Maybe it was the wannabe lawyer who advises people to dump the bodies of home invaders in the ditch.

hound dog - You're too funny. Susan is correct. The body dumped at Roca Azul has nothing to do with us. Could be drug related as most all the killings are.

Roca Azul has two gates you have to go through to get back to the campground. From the description I thought the body was dumped near the main road. That's quite a ways from the camp ground. Neil...have you ever been to Roca Azul?

It is quite a haul from the main gate to the campground and you go through another, guarded gate about half way in. I wouldn't hesitate to camp at Rocal Azul in the camp ground.

From the main road where the body dump was to the entrance to the Camp Ground and the other facilitates are is pretty close to 2 kms. The owners keep pretty good tabs on who comes and goes and it wouldn't bother me to camp there at all. There has been a lot of drug/cartel related stuff happening on the south shore and Mex15 is a major artery between Guadalajara and points east. Nothing east of Joco ever seems to make it into the news.
