google voice as an account verification "phone"

as we all have to deal with having a way to verify accounts,
are you using google voice
Pros and cons please

I have been using  Google voice in Mexico for 14 years with no confirmation issues. I have 3 USA banks and 4 credit cards that sometimes require confirmation by voice or text. I have GV enabled on 2 cell phones, a Ipad, a PC and chromebook

So, does that mean you keep a/some USA (or Can) phone operating here?....
Or, do have some very accomodating banks/cards that will send to MEX cellular

(Which In my experience is not at all likely.

My bank sends the account verification request to the App on my phone so having a phone number at all is unnecessary.

I'm Canadian and both work for me in Mexico and all other countries that I have visited.

You do need to have access to the internet.  

Both have apps that you can use on your cell Mexican cell phone or online.

guess none of you all are blessed with account at Capital one

They wont allow numbers from VOIP suppliers except a few - i think text now is ok and i think google voice....

They are "protecting me"

Some are OK with email - I certainly am.....
