Capital One 360 verification text

Now CO 360 is going more and more to verification text to a U.S. mobile phone number.  since most of us have Telcel, how do we get around this?  Text Now, Magic Jack and Vonage don't work as it is not connected to a U.S. carrier and they can tell it is voip.

Google TextFree or TextNow and see if that works. You pick the area code and number to use.

It won’t work. Tried it. Message says this is not a us carrier in your name. They are insisting on a brick and mortar address (utility bill) and a us carrier.

Then use somebody you know in the States with a cell phone.

We have to be registered name on the cell phone. I know several people in the US that has a US cell phone number but I’m not on their US carrier account by my name because they on the US carrier cell phone account and I don’t Have my name on their account and I don’t have their brick and mortar mailing address.

Sounds like you’re screwed if you can’t convince them you hate cell phones and won’t have one and if there’s no address under your name you’re definitely screwed.

I get verification texts from Capitol One on a google voice number - I have the google voice app on my telcel phone.

I'm just not sure that's correct with Capital One needing a brick and mortar address to match the phone. When I changed from a company phone upon retiring to my personal phone, Capital One didn't care what number I provided.

I signed in online (or app?) and changed the texting number to use and viola, they sent me a code, I responded yes that's me and no issues. It still works great.

As one forum member stated, chose an area code with TextNow that is in the US (for us it's a mailbox in SD, could be in Laredo, TX where people receive mail). Done. Good luck.

Jubilation do you use a text now number to receive Capital one texts and if it works?

Yes, BUT I am still on Verizon though our iPhones only show TelCel as the carrier in Mexico (that's who Verizon leases from) and I installed TextNow in Mexico because I feared a problem when we switch to TelCel only. We've only been here a month.
