Trip to Mazamitla Empty Trip to Mazamitla

I am planning an overnight trip to Mazamitla with a side trip to Petatan to see the Pelicans.  Any other "things to see" on the way, places to eat in Mazamitla, etc.?

If you are into Catholic miracles, La Manzanillo de la Paz has the Virgen de la Laja.

The above article does not go into depth about the origin of the miracle. The locals have a much more interesting story to tell.

I asked a priest once how one knows if a miracle is true. His reply was if a person believes it to be true then it is true. About 1/2 of the pueblo believes the story of the miracle and the other believe it to be tourist bait.
