Where's the best place to eat there? Prefer a nice place w/a view & clean. Open for suggestions.

Not a lot of views unless you mean of the plaza. Didn't check upstairs plaza restaurants. We found good food along the highway north of town in attractive settings. Maybe some mountain top resort in the area?
Re: Mazamitla
If you go and read my report on Mazamitla from April you will see a great place to eat.......
Re: Mazamitla
The drive is 100 times more beautiful this time of year...it's so green and lush! Switzerland or Mexico? I've never heard that before. I suppose El Charco was on the main road, no?
One year we road our mountain bikes there, after the rainy season, and we did go to a small waterfall inside a sort of cabin subdivision. I don't remember hiking too much, in fact, don't think we did because we didn't want to leave our bikes unchained. That's not the same place that some say is a 4 mile hike, right, or is it?

We went a couple of weeks ago and ate at el troje, excellent arrachera. Turn left at the main traffic light.

Ooop's still on my first coffee. It is La Troje and it is also a hotel. BTW if you go fairly early, as in 1 or 1:30 it won't be crowded. After 2 on a weekend it gets pretty busy. I didn't have any, but the desserts looked really good.

Did you walk to the waterfall? This one: http://www.cabanasenmazamitla.com/cascada_el_salto.html
My husband says we did hike to it & wasn't very pretty. Said it was a poop fall, lol I think it was the end of the rainy season and was a drizzle. I hope it's nice this time of year. :)

Actually we didn't, just toured the town and had comida fairly early. It is a beautiful drive and the new road is fantastic. The trip is way better than Tapalpa which we went to in December.
