Telmex fiber modem wifi strength?
Any personal experience on the strength of their wifi signal. For example how might it be if I'm out on the patio 100' away? Through a sliding glass door not a thick wall.
Gracias

Rick,
It totally depends on what equipment you get from Telmex. and how many solid walls are in the way of the signal. 100' ft is a long way but today's wireless equipment may reach that. If not, you can invest in a WIFI extender and set it up half way in-between.

That would depend on your router.

No external router involved. Asking about the capabilities of the Telmex fiber modem's wifi strength only. I know I can put 'stuff' behind the modem but am wanting to know JUST about the modem's capabilities.
Asking for a friend.

Rick,
It is a modem/router/WIFI combo unit. You cannot have WIFI without the router. There are network jacks on the back that allow you to plug directly into the unit.
I had to do this last year when the WIFI in the Condo unit I rented was unstable. I think C-Bob directed me to the computer shop at Laguna Mall. They can make the cable any size you want. I still have the the one they mad me in my laptop case. Worked like a charm.

Re: Telmex fiber modem wifi strength?
OK, yes, thanks Roy. I do understand that their/any modem has to have 'routing' capabilities in order to provide wifi.... and maybe additional ethernet ports for hard wired stuff if any.
Just wondering about the current Telmex fiber stand alone wifi capability... how good is it without adding anything beyond their 'modem'.

We bought a 4 antenna booster from Steren as our modem signal would not reach our living room. With booster we have strong signal now.

Re: Telmex fiber modem wifi strength?
Rick, on a good day with a direct line of site from user to modem it will transmit 100 feet. Any wall or radio interference all bets are off.

A mesh system will do the job. I use:LinkSys Mesh AC1300
